Maybe you have heard of Knipex hand tools and know the type of quality
tools this German based company produces. For those of you that aren't
yet acquainted with Knipex tools, take a minute and read this short
article on why this company should deserve some consideration the next
time you're in the market for cutters and pliers.
The first thing
that you should know about Knipex hand tools is that the company has
been in business for almost 130 years. Yes indeed, you did read that
right, almost 130 years making tools. Now if that doesn't give you a
good idea about the quality they produce, then nothing probably will.
With the amount of fierce competition that has always existed in the
tool market, any company that has survived for that length of time must
be doing something right.
Knipex hand tools were first produced
way back in 1882 in a small workshop in Wuppertal, Germany. The original
company consisted of Carl Gustav Putsch, the founder, who had just
completed apprenticing as a blacksmith with his father but wanted to
have a business of his own. It was Carl and 2 journeyman who first
starting producing quality tools at the blistering pace of about 60
pieces a day.
The original idea behind Knipex tools was to
concentrate on quality versus quantity. The second idea was to become a
company know for specializing in certain types of tools. The original
Knipex consisted of only 2 products. They produced carpenter pincers and
farrier pincers. Oh, just in case you didn't know, back then a farrier
was they guy who did the shoeing of the local horses. As this brand of
tools started to become associated with high quality standards and
durability, what started out as small 3 man operation soon started to
grow. Needless to say, Knipex now operates a state of the art production
facility in Wuppertal and is still family owned and operated.
Unlike
many companies who experience success, Knipex has stayed true to the
core ideals of its founder. Knipex hand tools are now being used in over
100 countries and the company continues to grow and flourish.
In
fact, the full line of Knipex tools can pretty much be summed up in two
words. Cutters and pliers. Granted, in each of those categories you
have a large variety of hand tools, but the point being made is that the
company still believes in being specialists in one certain area of
tools. And quite frankly, they have succeeded quite well sticking to
that philosophy. Knipex hand tools are known in professional circles as
tools that perform with the utmost of ease every single time.
